Iran is preparing to deliver Fath-360 missile launchers to Russia, enhancing Moscow’s short-range ballistic missile capabilities in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The Fath-360, with a range of approximately 75 miles (120 kilometers), allows for rapid deployment and targeting of Ukrainian military positions and nearby cities. While Iran reportedly sent these missiles to Russia in 2024, the accompanying launchers were not included at that time. The imminent delivery of these launchers underscores the deepening military ties between Tehran and Moscow, despite previous denials from both governments regarding arms transfers related to the Ukraine war. U.S. officials have linked Iran to the supply of drones, artillery shells, and over 400 short-range ballistic missiles to Russia. This development may complicate U.S.-led diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire in Ukraine and parallel nuclear negotiations with Iran.
